The piece

Draw it

Four decisions. The drawing is the pattern, and it moves with you — not a photograph swapped for another.

Single-breasted · Jacket · Notch · Plain

Cut

One row of buttons. Lengthens the figure and asks nobody's permission. The one that holds up at any hour.

Length

Ends at the hip. The length that lets the trouser show, and that really decides the whole proportion.

Lapel

The classic step between collar and lapel. The one that draws no attention, which is exactly why it works everywhere.

Cloth

No pattern. Everything rests on the cut and the drape, which is where a well-made piece shows itself.

The drawing is a tailor's flat, not a catalogue. The piece is made at the appointment: this decides where the conversation starts.
